Terms of service

Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 October 2026

These Terms of Service apply to your use of conceptstatement.com and to purchases made directly from Concept Statement.

By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Returns & Refunds Policy.

Where one of those policies contains more specific information about shipping, returns, refunds or privacy, that specific policy applies to that subject.

1. About Concept Statement

This website is operated by:

Concept Statement
's-Gravendijkwal 157M
3021 EM Rotterdam
The Netherlands

Email: info@conceptstatement.com
Chamber of Commerce (KvK): 71152733
VAT number: NL002436580B31

Our online store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform we use to offer our products and services.

2. Using our website

You may use our website only for lawful purposes.

You must not use the website in a way that could damage, disrupt or interfere with the website, its security or the experience of other users.

You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, transmit malicious software, misuse our content or use the website for fraudulent or unlawful activity.

We may restrict or suspend access to the website where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance or misuse of our services.

3. Products and product information

We make reasonable efforts to describe and display our products accurately, including their colours, dimensions, materials, finishes, features, sizes and other relevant characteristics.

The product description shown on the relevant product page forms part of your purchase.

Lifestyle imagery, styling photographs and campaign images are illustrative. Products may appear slightly different depending on lighting, styling, screen settings or the device used to view them.

The appearance of colours may vary between screens. Minor variations may also occur where this is inherent to the material, manufacturing process or handmade nature of a product.

Product images are intended to represent the product as accurately as reasonably possible but do not replace the written product description.

If there is a difference between general promotional imagery and the specific characteristics stated on a product page, the specific product information provided for the item you purchased will apply.

Availability may change and some products may be offered in limited quantities.

4. Limited editions and product availability

Some Concept Statement products may be produced in limited quantities, released as limited editions or available only for a certain period.

Availability is always subject to stock.

We make reasonable efforts to keep stock information accurate. However, in rare cases an item may become unavailable after an order has been placed, for example because of a stock discrepancy or simultaneous purchases.

If we cannot fulfil an item you have ordered, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and offer an appropriate solution, which may include a refund of the amount paid for the unavailable item.

5A. Pre-orders and made-to-order products

From time to time, we may offer products on a pre-order or made-to-order basis.

Where this applies, we will make this clear before you place your order and provide an estimated dispatch or delivery timeframe.

Pre-order and made-to-order products may have longer processing times than products that are already in stock.

Estimated dates are provided in good faith but may occasionally change due to production, supply, transport or other circumstances outside our immediate control. If there is a significant delay, we will make reasonable efforts to inform you.

Where a product is specifically personalised or made according to your individual specifications, the statutory right of withdrawal may not apply where the legal requirements for that exception are met. If this applies, we will make it clear before you place your order.

5B. Custom and personalised pieces

Certain Concept Statement products may be created specifically for you based on your individual choices, specifications or personalisation requests.

Where a product is made to your specifications or is clearly personalised, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply where permitted by applicable consumer law.

For custom pieces, we may provide one or more opportunities to review and approve relevant details before the piece is completed or dispatched. This may include, depending on the project, the design, dimensions, materials, colour, engraving, layout or other agreed specifications.

It is your responsibility to review the information provided during this approval process carefully. Once you have approved the final specifications and production has begun, the custom order cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded simply because you change your mind.

Custom and personalised products are therefore final sale once the applicable specifications have been approved and production has begun.

This does not affect your statutory rights if the finished product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or does not conform to the specifications that were agreed and approved.

6. Prices

Prices are shown in the currency displayed on our website and include VAT where applicable unless clearly stated otherwise.

Shipping costs and any other applicable charges are shown before you complete your order.

For deliveries outside the European Union, customs duties, import taxes or local charges may apply. Unless clearly stated otherwise at checkout, these charges are the responsibility of the recipient.

We may change our prices at any time, but a price change will not affect an order that has already been accepted.

Where a promotional or reduced price applies, the applicable price and any relevant conditions will be shown before you place your order.

7A. Placing an order

By placing an order, you confirm that the information you provide is complete and accurate and that you are authorised to use the selected payment method.

After placing an order, you will receive an order confirmation.

An order may be refused or cancelled where there is a legitimate reason to do so, for example where:

  • a product is unavailable;

  • payment cannot be authorised;

  • information provided with the order is clearly incorrect or incomplete;

  • we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse;

  • there is an obvious pricing or listing error; or

  • fulfilling the order would be unlawful.

If we cancel an order after payment has been received, we will refund the amount due to you.

Nothing in this section limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

7B. Order cancellations before fulfilment

Where available, you may cancel an unfulfilled item before it has been processed for shipment.

Once an item has been fulfilled or dispatched, it may no longer be possible to cancel the order before delivery. This does not affect any statutory right of withdrawal or other consumer rights that may apply after you receive the order.

8. Payment

Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered at checkout.

Payment processing may be handled by Shopify or other payment providers. Your use of a particular payment service may also be subject to that provider's terms and privacy notice.

We do not store your complete payment-card details ourselves.

9. Shipping and delivery

Shipping options, costs and estimated delivery times are displayed on our website and/or during checkout.

We currently ship using PostNL and DHL.

We will deliver your order within the delivery period agreed with you. Where no specific delivery period has been agreed, applicable consumer law applies.

Concept Statement remains responsible for the order during transport by a carrier arranged by us until you, or another person designated by you, receives the order.

For full information about carriers, delivery estimates, customs, missing parcels and damaged deliveries, please see our Shipping Policy.

10. Right of withdrawal and returns

Consumers purchasing online generally have a statutory right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 calendar days, subject to any applicable legal exceptions.

You must notify us within the applicable withdrawal period if you wish to exercise this right. After notifying us, you have a further 14 calendar days to send the relevant products back.

Return shipping costs for a normal change-of-mind return are the customer's responsibility unless otherwise required by law or agreed by us.

Products may be inspected in the same way you reasonably would in a physical store. If a product has been handled or used beyond what is necessary to inspect it and has lost value as a result, we may deduct the resulting loss in value from the refund where permitted by law.

Certain personalised or custom-made products may be excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal where the legal requirements for that exception are met.

For complete information about returns, refunds, sale products, personalised items and the condition of returned products, please see our Returns & Refunds Policy.

11. Faulty or non-conforming products

Your statutory consumer rights remain fully applicable.

If a product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or does not conform to what you were entitled to expect, please contact us at info@conceptstatement.com.

The statutory rights that apply to faulty or non-conforming goods are separate from the 14-day right of withdrawal.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits a statutory guarantee or other mandatory consumer right.

12. Product care and normal wear

Our products should be used and cared for in accordance with any care instructions provided with the product or on our website.

Normal signs of wear that arise through regular use are not automatically considered a defect. Depending on the product, this may include minor scratches, surface wear, changes caused by friction, improper storage, exposure to chemicals, moisture or other substances, or damage caused by misuse or accidental impact.

For jewellery, finishes and surfaces may naturally change over time depending on wear, care, storage and exposure.

This section does not affect your statutory rights if a product is faulty, does not conform to the agreement or does not last as long as you could reasonably expect.

13. Product availability and errors

We try to ensure that product descriptions, prices, stock information and other information on our website are accurate and up to date.

Occasionally an error may occur.

If we discover an obvious error affecting an order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and explain the available options.

We will not use an error to remove rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

14. Promotions, discounts and gift cards

Promotions and discount codes may be subject to additional conditions displayed when the promotion is offered.

Unless stated otherwise, promotional offers:

  • cannot be exchanged for cash;

  • cannot be combined with other promotions where this is expressly excluded; and

  • apply only during the stated promotional period.

Any material conditions attached to a promotion will be made clear before purchase.

Sale and discounted products remain covered by statutory consumer rights, including the right of withdrawal where applicable.

Where gift cards are offered, any specific conditions will be made clear when they are purchased.

15. Retail, wholesale and resale orders

Unless otherwise agreed, purchases made through our standard online store are intended for retail customers.

Orders intended for wholesale, commercial resale or distribution may be subject to separate pricing, payment terms, shipping arrangements and contractual conditions.

If you wish to purchase Concept Statement products for resale, wholesale or another commercial purpose, please contact us before placing an order.

We reserve the right to contact you where an order appears to be intended for commercial resale or where unusually large quantities are ordered.

Nothing in this section affects the rights of consumers purchasing for private use.

16. Purchases made through retailers

Concept Statement products may also be sold through authorised retailers, resellers or other third-party sellers.

If you purchase a Concept Statement product from a retailer or seller other than conceptstatement.com, your purchase agreement is with that retailer.

Returns, exchanges, refunds, complaints and other seller obligations relating to that purchase must therefore be handled directly with the retailer or seller from whom you purchased the product.

Concept Statement cannot process a refund or return through conceptstatement.com for a purchase that was not made directly from us.

This does not affect any statutory rights you may have against the retailer or seller under applicable consumer law.

17. Intellectual property

The content of this website, including our brand name, logos, product designs, photographs, graphics, written content, artwork and other original materials, belongs to Concept Statement or is used by us with permission.

You may use the website for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, commercially exploit or otherwise use our protected content without our prior written permission, except where the law allows such use.

Nothing on the website grants you ownership of any intellectual property rights.

18. Reviews, comments and user content

If you submit a review, comment, photograph or other content to us, you are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to submit it and that it does not infringe the rights of another person or contain unlawful, misleading, abusive or malicious material.

We may remove content where we reasonably believe it is unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, abusive or infringes third-party rights.

We do not knowingly publish, purchase or commission fake customer reviews.

Where we describe a review as verified or otherwise indicate that it is connected to a purchase, we will use reasonable measures to support that claim.

19. Customer photos and promotional content

We will not assume that we can use a photograph, video, testimonial or other customer-created content for promotional purposes simply because it has been sent to us or posted online.

If we would like to use customer content in our marketing, website, social media or other promotional materials, we will request permission where required.

Any use of customer-created content will be based on the permission provided and will not transfer ownership of the original content to Concept Statement unless separately agreed.

If you have previously given us permission to use your content and later have questions about that use, you can contact us at info@conceptstatement.com.

20. Third-party services and links

Our website may use or link to third-party services, including payment services, social media platforms, shipping providers and other external websites.

We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of websites operated independently by third parties.

Your use of those third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

21. Privacy

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, who we share it with and the rights available to you.

22. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by law.

In particular, nothing in these Terms affects your mandatory rights as a consumer.

To the extent permitted by law, Concept Statement is not responsible for losses that are not a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach or that result from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We are not responsible for business losses suffered by a consumer where a product was purchased wholly for private use.

This section does not exclude liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence where such liability cannot legally be excluded, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

23. Events outside our reasonable control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, carrier disruption, strikes, government restrictions, major technical outages, natural disasters or similar circumstances.

This does not remove any statutory rights you may have, including rights relating to delayed or failed delivery.

24. Complaints

If you have a complaint about a product, order or our service, please contact us at info@conceptstatement.com and include your order number where relevant.

We will acknowledge and review complaints within a reasonable period and will make reasonable efforts to resolve the matter directly with you.

Where applicable, your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected while a complaint is being reviewed.

25. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our business, website, services or legal obligations.

The version that applied when you placed an order will continue to govern that purchase unless a change is required by law.

The latest version will always be published on this page together with the date it was last updated.

26. Governing law

These Terms and purchases made through Concept Statement are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.

If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the European Union or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, this choice of law does not remove rights that you are entitled to under mandatory laws applicable to you.

Any dispute will be handled by the competent court in accordance with applicable law.
